Well, the secret is finally out. #rugbyunited have been planning this for some time and it is something we have ALWAYS wanted to do…I am pretty excited about it!
For those of you who missed the announcement on Twitter yesterday, #rugbyunited will be hosting a #rugbyfair on August 9th 2014 at Hereford Rugby Club.
So… What is #rugbyfair all about I hear you ask. It’s simple…A huge get together of #rugbyunited staff, account holders and you…the lovely followers who make these kind of things happen!!! We will be putting on a bit of a Summer Fair with all your usual stalls – think coconut shy, face painting, lucky dip, raffle, craft & food stalls and hopefully a bouncy castle. There will also be beer, lots of beer. Oh and a rugby game!! We will finally get to see #rugbyunited play a game of rugby!
The day will be starting from 3pm with a game kicking off at 4pm. Following the game there will be a BBQ run by some of the RU Team and their friends all the while the bar (which is excellent) will be open for business.
When the time comes to move on from the rugby club, you can all head to wherever you are staying, spruce yourselves up a bit and meet back in town for more fun and frolics. I am working with a local DJ to organise entry into a club for us all. More details on that when I have them!
We are charging for this event, this is just to cover our costs (I am not sure even WE can blag a bouncy castle for free). Any excess cash will be used to make the event even better for you guys! I promise you that none of it will ever line our pockets, that’s just not what we do.
Tickets will be just £6 for adults which will get you entry to the event & access to the nightclub that night (more details on that to come) and £3.00 for children. We cannot guarantee that there will be tickets on the gate so please book your tickets NOW to make sure you have a spot.
I am also hoping to secure some rooms in local hotels for you to book and stay but I cannot promise anything so if you are planning on joining us and need a place to stay here is where we would recommend:
Premier Inn: http://www.premierinn.com/en/hotel/HERSTA/hereford I would say it’s more of a taxi ride to town than a walk but its cheap & cheerful & theres a Beefeater right next door for breakfast!
Aylestone Court: http://aylestonecourt.co.uk/ quite near the town centre and the train station, a little bit flashier than a Premier Inn or Travelodge!
Three Counties: http://www.threecountieshotel.co.uk/ A little bit out of town but only a 20 minute walk to the club. And again, a little more flash than a Travelodge!
Now, a plea from me…I am looking for raffle and luckydip/tombola prizes. We have already had some kind offers but more would be appreciated. All money from the raffle will go towards #rugbyaid which as you all know we have just launched! Any donations will be gratefully received. If you can email me on firstname.lastname@example.org that would be fab!
Also…Calling all local business holders/crafty people…if you would like to hold a stall at the event please get in touch. I’m thinking jam makers, small craft items that can be bought as gifts, food stalls, that kind of thing!! Any money you make will be yours, there will be no fee to have a stall either!
That’s it guys. I hope to see as many of you there as possible.
Lots of rugby love
