New Lions Stash

As 2016 begins to draw to a close, the nights get longer, the days get colder and the rugby gets going, the eyes of the rugby world begin to look toward 2017…LIONS YEAR!

Now we have all started to think about our ideal Lions squad, we may not have got the coach we wanted (no surprise there really) but some players are starting to put their hands up for selection.

As well as the coach and squad there is the important matter of the KIT.  Canterbury were announced as the official kit providers for the 2017 tour and so far we have not been disappointed by the selection of stash.  The beautiful “since 1888” range with the replica shirt and the 4 regular rugby shirts that go with it were the 1st sneak peaks of how nice this stash was going to be.

This release is of the training gear with the promise of the Lions Jersey in NOVEMBER! If you hadn’t guessed I am so excited about this.

Canterbury state that the range was “designed to meet the demands of the world’s elite rugby players…to optimise performance in training on-field and in the gym.”  The whole range features the Lions crest as well as the “SINCE 1888” scroll as a nod to the first ever Lions tour.

Let’s talk technology… Canterbury have developed some exciting fabric technologies; VAPOSHIELD, THERMOREG and VAPODRI+.  Now, in layman terms this means that they are breathable, lightweight and weather resistant.  I actually have some of Canterbury’s other training range and the fabric is beautiful, really comfy and yep, breathable!

Alongside the traditional red items, the range has been released in 3 other colours: green, blue and white to represent every nation involved in the squad.  One of my personal favourite touches is the little flecks of colour on the sleeve and seams, it is just a really nice way to represent the home nations.

If, like me (and the rest of the #rugbyunited team) you want to get your hands on any of the training range you can do so here: Canterbury.com or lionsrugby.com  Let us see your pics when you get your hands on them using both #rugbyunited and #CommittedToTheGame
